Title: Re: LINKS~Social Security Post by: Holly on March 15, 2008, 12:27:00 am Kathy I am under the understanding that people on ss and/or disability will get a stimulus refund but only if they filed a tax return this year. So anyone who files a return will get something back ( This will exclude minors who are working but are claimed as dependants on their parents taxes). I believe I heard that the minimum is 300 per individual who files a return when on ss and/or disability. I am not sure if that means a husband and wife would get 300 each or just one check for 300. Ones who are working and filing returns get 600 for single tax payers and 1,200 for married ones (it doesn't matter if both or only one spouse is working) and they get an additional 300 for each extra child they have. Mine should be 1,200 for me and Bill and the 300 for Ashley for a total of 1,500. I heard the checks will start being cut in May after the tax season is over. Most likely they will be sent out in alphabetical order. The last ones should arrive to people in July. Since my last name starts with a P ours will be coming later ( probably the end of June).
