The Rainbow Drama Group show, The Battle of the Lamp, is an improvised play, and all the ideas have come from the participants themselves - 15 adults aged between 18 and 72, who have a wide range of disabilities, from autism, Downs Syndrome and mild learning disabilities with reading and writing, to people with physical disabilities such as Lupus.
Zia Musaphia, the group tutor, said: "It works really well, because the ones that are more able can support the others that are non-verbal, or help others with coming on and off the stage."
The group which has been running for 31 years, nearly folded last year due to a lack of money, but after getting charity status they managed to secure funding for the future.
The show will be performed at Hoxton Hall, Hoxton Street, this Friday and Saturday March 14/15 at 7.30pm. Tickets are £5 or £3.50 concessions, to book call 07958 452 088.
