WE NEED SUPPORTERS!!! We may be counting down the days until this year's ALR San Francisco Walk, but our work is far from finished. Now's the time to follow up with your potential supporters and Team Members--ask for their support in reaching your personal and Team fundraising goals. Remind your family, friends and co-workers of the tremendous impact their donation has on lupus research. Share your personal story and how our most recent achievements in research are making a difference in the lives of those living with and affected by lupus.
It's never too late to raise those important dollars for lupus research! Please let us know what we can do to ensure your involvement is meaningful, memorable and successful. We're here to support you.
Reminder!
We ask that everyone joining us at the ALR San Francisco Walk on Saturday, October 24 (young and young at heart) officially register for this year's event. With your help, we’re building a strong and vibrant community committed to increasing awareness of lupus and raising crucial dollars for lupus research. Let’s show our size and strength! It’s also important we know how many folks will be joining us in order to accommodate ALR Walker traffic along our route and plan for ample beverages, snacks and goodies. Click here to register online or contact us at 1-866-WALK-ALR
We have the ability and power to make a difference in the lives of those living with and affected by lupus. Now's the time San Francisco, let's see that fundraising thermometer rise! Don't wait!
You're Making a Difference
Because of your fundraising efforts, there are several lupus drugs in clinical trials. We're proud to share the ALR was directly supportive of many of the agents currently in the clinical pipeline. Your hard work helped fund the International SLE Genetics Consortium (SLEGEN) and their discovery of 13 genes linked to lupus. This historic finding enables scientists to seize upon yet another avenue for lupus therapy and prevention. Our 2009 ALR San Francisco Walk success will help fund the ALR's new Functional Genomics and Molecular Pathways in SLE Grant--encouraging scientists to study the functions and pathways of those genes you helped identify through the SLEGEN research project.
Together, we ensure the ALR continues to fund innovative and aggressive lupus research projects at some of the most prestigious universities, hospitals and research institutions in the world--including research at UCSF. It's incredible what we've been able to accomplish.
Together, we will find a cure!
