(SLE) clinical research trial that is being conducted by Northern California Research
[/b]
Hello Ms. Walters,
I hope to touch bases with you regarding a Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) clinical research trial that is being conducted by Northern California Research. We are currently seeking qualified volunteers to participate in this ground breaking trial that is investigating a new medication belonging to a new class of Lupus medicatons called BAFF(BLyS)-Specific Inhibitors. There has not been a new medication for Lupus in over 50 years but as you may know, a new treatment called Benlysta was recently approved by the FDA. However, Benlysta is administered only as an intravenous infusion (IV) which makes it difficult to access for many patients and still presents a need for an easily accessible Lupus treatment.
The new class of Lupus medications target the mechanism behind the production of B-cells, whose hyperactivity has been known to cause autoimmune diseases like Lupus. B-cells normally create the antibodies that fight off diseases but at some point, the B-cells become hyperactive and your body has too many and so, it begins to attack healthy body cells instead which causes Lupus “flares”. The BAFF(BLyS)-Specific Inhibitor medications have been shown to stop the process that causes B-cells to become hyperactive. Our new Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) research study is investigating a new medication that also belongs to the same class of BAFF(BLyS)-Specific Inhibitor medications. It will be a 2 year long research study and will be located at our Watt Avenue study center. Please find more information about our company and the study at
www.norcare.net I would love to join you during a support group meeting or event and provide our study information to any interested group members. Or if you could simply forward my contact information to anyone that may be interested, I would greatly appreciate it as well. Please let me know if there is anything that we can work out as I am very excited about the prospect of this study for the many Lupus patients in our area and I sincerely hope to hear from you soon.
I have also attached some additional information about our research which will break down the structure of the study. Please feel free to contact me for any additional information or with any questions that you may have.
Best Regards,
